Hydrodermabrasion is a new method of exfoliation that works much like microdermabrasion; the skin is exfoliated and the debris is vacuumed away. With hydrodermabrasion, however, the skin is simultaneously infused with serums that hydrate and plump the skin. This treatment is often better known by its brand name, HydraFacial.
Those with active acne, eczema, or psoriasis are not good candidates.
As always, consultations are free.
Hydrodermabrasion uses a similar system to microdermabrasion; the skin is exfoliated and then vacuumed away. While microdermabrasion uses a diamond tip to exfoliate, hydrodermabrasion blasts the skin with high pressure water to exfoliate, and then vacuums everything away. Because of this, it is an excellent exfoliation choice for those with sensitive skin. The unique design of hydrodermabrasion also allows the skin to be infused with hydrating serums immediately after being exfoliated, resulting in better absorption.
Hydrodermabrasion can help to diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improve skin texture, minimize the look of pores, visibly soften and smooth skin, and reduce hyperpigmentation.
There is no pain and very little discomfort, if any, associated with this treatment. The most discomfort likely to be felt is a slight tugging associated with the vacuuming of dead skin. This treatment is very comfortable, and an excellent choice for those with sensitive skin.
There is absolutely no downtime associated with this treatment. You may put on makeup and return to your day immediately afterwards.
You will see visible results after one treatment. It is important to realize, however, that this is an exfoliation treatment, and dead skin cells will continue to build up after each treatment. Therefore, monthly exfoliation is recommended to keep the glowing, radiant results consistent.
You will see visible results immediately after the first treatment, and your glowing, radiant skin should last between 5 and 7 days. After this, dead skin will begin to build up again. Therefore, monthly treatments is best for optimal results.
