microdermabrasion

Available at Spring.

Microdermabrasion is a minimally abrasive treatment used to gently remove the rough outer layer of skin. This can improve the appearance of skin and reveal newer, undamaged skin. This is a professional, mechanical exfoliation, so those with active acne, eczema, or rosacea are not good candidates.

As always, consultations are free.

HOW DOES MICRODERMABRASION WORK?

With microdermabrasion, our esthetician uses a diamond tipped tool to remove the top layer of your skin. The wand will physically exfoliate your skin, and the wand’s vacuum sucks away any dirt and dead skin cells. At the same time, the suction element promotes blood circulation and stimulates collagen production.

WHAT DOES MICRODERMABRASION HELP WITH?

Since microdermabrasion is a mechanical exfoliation, it removes the top rougher layer of skin to reveal smooth, newer skin underneath. It can also help with age spots, enlarged pores, fine lines and wrinkles, mild acne scarring, and sun damage.

DOES THE TREATMENT HURT?

No, this treatment does not hurt. Most describe the feeling of this treatment as a light scratching, like a cat’s tongue or a scrub. You will also feel a tugging from the suction part of the wand. If this is painful, please inform our esthetician so she can turn down the level of suction.

IS THERE ANY DOWNTIME AFTER THE TREATEMENT?

No, there is no downtime. You may have some redness immediately following the treatment, and the suction may cause some light bruising that should resolve within two days.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS DO I NEED?

While you may see some improvement after the first treatment, results will compound over time. Usually, five to eight treatmentsΒ  paced at least a week apart are recommended for the best results.

HOW MUCH DOES THIS TREATMENT COST?

Microdermabrasion is $80 for non-members and $65 for members. Packages are available.
